This page explains how cancellations and refunds work on LongformHQ, operated by LongformHQ Labs LLP, registered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Read it alongside our Terms of service — defined terms used here carry the meaning given there.
1. Subscription cancellations
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the billing portal on the Account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep full access to the plan, its monthly credit allowance, and any unused top-up credits until that period ends.
We do not issue pro-rata refunds for the unused portion of a paid month. If you cancel on day 3 of a 30-day cycle, the subscription remains active for the remaining 27 days and renews are stopped.
2. Credit top-ups
Top-up credits convert directly into spend with our AI providers (OpenAI, Google, xAI, ElevenLabs, Anthropic). Once a top-up is granted to your account, the credits are non-refundable except in the narrow cases listed in §3.
Top-up credits do not expire while your account is active and carry over across subscription cycles.
3. Refund eligibility
We will refund a charge — in full or in part as appropriate — only in these situations:
- Outage. The service was unavailable for more than 24 contiguous hours and a stage of your video could not complete as a direct result. Credits debited for the affected stage are refunded; we may additionally refund the prorated subscription cost for the outage window.
- Billed without service. You were charged but received no service due to our error — for example, a duplicate subscription renewal that produced no usable account state.
- Accidental duplicate charge. The same transaction was charged twice within a 7-day window. We refund the duplicate.
Stage-level credit refunds for routine provider failures (a single failed image, a transient API error) are issued automatically to your credits ledger and do not require a request under this policy.
4. How to request a refund
Email [email protected] within 30 daysof the charge with the subject line "Refund request" and include:
- The Razorpay or Stripe order ID / payment ID from your receipt.
- The email address on your LongformHQ account.
- Which eligibility ground in §3 you are relying on, with relevant dates.
We review every request within 5 business days and reply with a decision. Approved refunds are credited back to the original payment method within 7–10 business days of approval. Your bank may take additional time to surface the credit on your statement.
5. What is not refundable
The following are out of scope for refunds:
- Credits already spent on stages that completed successfully — even if you later regenerate or discard the output.
- Generated outputs (scripts, images, clips, voiceovers, captions, final masters) that were delivered to your gallery. Once you have received them, the work was performed.
- BYO-key API costs. If you bring your own OpenAI, Gemini, Grok, or ElevenLabs key, those charges land on your provider account directly — we never see that money and cannot refund it. Take it up with the provider.
- Subscription fees for the unused portion of a paid period after cancellation (see §1).
6. Disputes
If you are not satisfied with a refund decision, you can escalate to our designated grievance officer. Contact details and the response SLA are on the Privacy policy page under "Grievance officer".
7. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of India and is read together with §10 of the Terms of service. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
